DENVER — A former owner of a Denver medical marijuana dispensary has pleaded guilty in connection with federal raids on Colorado pot businesses.
The Denver Post reports (http://dpo.st/208MEhe ) Gerardo Uribe pleaded guilty in federal court Tuesday to marijuana possession and conspiracy to possess marijuana. As part of a plea agreement, prosecutors agreed to drop a money-laundering charge.
Prosecutors will recommend Uribe serve one year on probation, with 90 days of that to be served in prison.
Uribe and three other men were accused of transferring money from Colombia to invest in a marijuana-cultivation warehouse and also of attempting to deposit proceeds from VIP Cannabis dispensary into a bank account.
Uribe's brother, Luis, and a Colombian businessman named Hector Diaz, previously pleaded guilty.
