PASCAGOULA, Mississippi — A Pascagoula man will spend 12 years in prison for possessing and producing child pornography.

Attorney General Jim Hood says 48-year-old Robert Hinger Jr. appeared before Circuit Court Judge Kathy King Jackson on Monday and pleaded guilty to four counts of child exploitation along with one count of production of child pornography.

The Sun Herald reports (http://bit.ly/1vZzmqd ) Jackson sentenced Hinger to a total of 30 years, with 12 years to serve and remaining time on post-release supervision. Hinger will also have to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.

During the investigation, it was determined that Hinger had emailed sexually explicit pictures of children engaged in sex acts. In addition, he had taken at least one picture himself of a 15-year-old girl.
