YUCCA VALLEY, California — A small earthquake has struck in the desert east of Los Angeles.

The U.S. Geological Survey says the magnitude-3.8 temblor struck at 8:57 p.m. Thursday was centered about 13 miles north of the town of Yucca Valley at a depth of 8 kilometer.

The USGS says the quake was felt, but a San Bernardino County Sheriff's dispatcher said there were no reports of damage.
