FORT MYERS, Florida — Two southwest Florida men appeared in court on charges of shooting and killing a 5-year-old boy.

The News-Press of Fort Myers (http://newspr.es/1FSBaqK) reports Thomas Dan Edison and Terrance Irons were charged with second-degree murder, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, discharging a firearm in public and using a firearm during a felony. They appeared Tuesday in a Fort Myers courtroom, where bond was set at $1.2 million each.

Andrew Faust suffered a gunshot wound on Oct. 13 and died later at the hospital.

Fort Myers Police Chief said Tuesday that the boy was not the intended target in the shooting.

The newspaper reports police know who the target was but didn't give details.
