LOGAN, Utah — A Utah State University student will be spending two days in jail and paying an $800 fine after pleaded guilty to providing alcohol to a minor at a fraternity party.
Logan's Herald Journal reports (http://bit.ly/KcCSTp) 21-year-old Casey Hafla was sentenced Monday. He's also being ordered to take a substance abuse or personal responsibility course, and write a report about the video "Impaired Driver."
Hafla pleaded guilty in March to a class B misdemeanor count of furnishing alcohol to a minor.
Prosecutors say Hafla obtained alcohol for former USU student Hayden Ahlbrandt, who later gave some of that alcohol to a 17-year-old girl at the Sept. 25 party at the Pi Kappa Alpha frat house.
The girl was hospitalized with alcohol poisoning.
