ANDERSON, South Carolina — A second man has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for helping dispose of bodies found in Lake Hartwell.

Local media outlets report that Shaine David Fischer was sentenced Thursday after pleading guilty to two counts of accessory after the fact to murder.

Fischer admitted in court that he helped John Michael Young stuff the bodies of 52-year-old Tony McGinnis and 37-year-old Andrea Mitchell in barrels, then put them in the lake in November 2012.

Authorities say Young killed the two victims a month earlier. He has also been sentenced to 30 years in prison. Prosecutors say both victims were killed by blows to the head with a baseball bat.

Fischer said he was afraid of what Young would do to him if he didn't help.
