Tempe police searching for 2nd suspect in apartment shooting that wounded 1

TEMPE, Ariz. — Police are searching for one of two male suspects in the shooting of a Tempe man in an apartment complex.

Tempe Police Sgt. Jeff Glover says investigators are still gathering information at the scene Thursday morning near Southern and Mill avenues. Police say the suspect was somehow able to slip out of the perimeter they set up.

According to police, two men kicked in the door of an apartment Wednesday night. An argument took place and witnesses heard a gunshot. Both suspects fled the scene and then by car.

Police were able to detain one man and recover one handgun.

Glover says the victim is listed in critical condition at a local hospital.

The suspect is described as white or Hispanic, heavy-set and wearing dark clothing.
