GRAND JUNCTION, Colorado — Authorities have released the name of a Palisade woman who was killed when the vehicle she was riding in was swept down a drainage in eastern Utah.

The Grand County Sheriff's Office in Utah says 57-year-old Susan Parker was in a Jeep that was crossing the Bittercreek Wash about 2 ½ miles west of the Colorado line Sunday. The vehicle overturned and was carried about 200 feet downstream.

The Grand Junction Daily Sentinel reports (http://bit.ly/1ub8gwR ) the driver managed to reach the bank, but Parker could not escape the Jeep.
