Protesters gather for President Barack Obama's South Florida fundraising visit

MIAMI — About two dozen protesters gathered in a South Florida neighborhood where President Barack Obama was holding a fundraiser.

Obama arrived in Miami Wednesday evening. He met with Democratic National Committee Chairwoman and Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz and then headed off to two fundraisers at private residences.

Protesters interested in a variety of issues gathered outside the neighborhood where Obama's second event was being held. Some held pro-Israel signs, while others opposed government privacy intrusions, such as the NSA phone surveillance program. Still others held pro-gun rights signs.

Eric Pierson and his wife, Lisa, both of Miami, held signs opposing government expansion but also mentioning the IRS targeting of conservative groups and the terror attacks in Benghazi, Libya.
