HENDERSON, Nevada — Authorities say a 70-year-old woman was struck and killed by a pickup truck while she was crossing a street after dark in a gated community in the Seven Hills area of Henderson.
Henderson police spokesman Keith Paul says the woman was crossing Via Sarafina Drive at Palatine Terrace Avenue when she was struck about 5:30 p.m. Monday by a 2004 Chevrolet Avalanche.
The intersection, near Seven Hills Drive, doesn't have crosswalk markings.
The woman's name wasn't immediately made public. She was pronounced dead at St. Rose Dominican Hospitals — Siena Campus.
No criminal charges were immediately filed against the driver, 34-year-old Alejandro Gutierrez.
Paul says Gutierrez voluntarily submitted to blood testing, but police say he didn't appear to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
