WEST MONROE, Louisiana — A West Monroe man has been arrested on a second-degree murder charge stemming from the death of a 2-year-old child who had been in his care.
Police arrested 25-year-old Eric Nabors after the child died Friday at Glenwood Regional Medical Center.
West Monroe Detective Tommy Jones said the child's injuries included bleeding at the brain stem, rib fractures and a lacerated liver.
The News-Star reports (http://tnsne.ws/1fWyeyf) that Nabors denied abusing the child but told police he had left the toddler alone for one hour.
Nabors also faces a drug possession charge. Police allegedly found marijuana during a search of his vehicle.
