LITTLE ROCK, Arkansas — A 64-year-old Little Rock man has died in a fire at his home on the city's southwest side.

Authorities say Kenneth Bowyer died at a local hospital where he was taken after being found on the kitchen floor of the home Friday morning.

Little Rock Fire Department Capt. Randy Hickmon told reporters that firefighters were called about 4:30 a.m. Friday and found the front room of the home in flames. Investigators say they believe the fire began in the living room in the front of the home and a smoke alarm awoke Bowyer.

The cause of the fire has not been determined.
