Jaguars GM says possibly getting suspended receiver Justin Blackmon back would be 'a luxury'

JACKSONVILLE, Florida — Jacksonville Jaguars general manager Dave Caldwell is "hearing good things" about suspended receiver Justin Blackmon.

Caldwell says he hopes the former Oklahoma State star returns in 2015 "because we know he's talented." But considering Blackmon is suspended indefinitely for repeated violations of the NFL's substance-abuse policy and has spent time in rehab, Caldwell says his potential reinstatement should be treated "as a luxury."

Caldwell says "we know he's also a good person that's fighting a tough battle. ... If he comes back, that's great. If he doesn't, we can't count on it."

The GM hopes the NFL makes a decision on Blackmon's potential reinstatement before the draft.

Without Blackmon, the Jaguars relied on rookies Marqise Lee, Allen Robinson and Allen Hurns this season.
