OBERLIN, Louisiana — Three people face second-degree murder charges after an Elton man died from injuries he received in a beating and robbery.

Allen Parish Sheriff Doug Hebert III tells the American Press (http://bit.ly/1eOXZNb ) the charges were upgraded Tuesday against 27-year-old Kyle James Fuselier (FYOO'-zuh-leer), of Crowley; 25-year-old Kaleigh R. Courville, of Oberlin; and 30-year-old Shane Deshotel (DEH'-shuh-tel), of Oakdale. It was unclear whether they have attorneys.

Hebert says the suspects were arrested in the robbery and beating of 64-year-old George Raggio at a camp near the Calcasieu River bridge on La. Highway 26, just west of Oberlin, on July 13.

Raggio died of his injuries Aug. 31 in an Alexandria hospital. Fuselier, Courville and Deshotel were initially charged with second-degree battery and second-degree robbery.
