DENVER — Police are asking for the public's help finding the driver who was involved in a hit-and-run crash that killed a pedestrian in southwest Denver.

Police say a 45-year-old man was hit by an SUV as he was walking his bicycle across South Federal Boulevard at West Walsh Place at about 9:30 p.m. Thursday.

The vehicle suspected in the crash is described as a 2002-2004 dark-colored Ford Explorer or Mercury Mountaineer. Investigators say the SUV could have moderate damage to the headlight area on the driver's side.

Police have not released the name of the man who was killed.
