LEMITAR, New Mexico — New Mexico State Police say a 21-year-old woman has died after a single vehicle rollover north of Socorro.

Sgt. Elizabeth Armijo says the incident happened in Lemitar around 4 a.m. Saturday when an Oldsmobile sedan was traveling on Chambon Road.

Investigators are trying to determine what caused the car to crash.

Armijo says Jasmine Perez, of Socorro, was pronounced dead at the scene. Emergency responders transported 22-year-old Anthony Padilla to the hospital. His condition is unknown.

State Police say it is still unclear who was the driver but alcohol appears to be a factor.
