Miguel Dicent's layup with 5 seconds left gives Morehead first-ever win over Belmont 73-71

MOREHEAD, Kentucky — Miguel Dicent scored the go-ahead layup with five seconds left and Angelo Warner sealed the win with a steal, giving Morehead State its first-ever victory over Belmont 73-71 on Saturday.

The Eagles (12-14, 7-4 Ohio Valley) took a 71-64 lead on Warner's basket with 2:08 left but saw it erased as Belmont (15-9, 7-4) scored seven straight, capped by Craig Bradshaw's 3-pointer with 11 seconds remaining.

Karam Mashour scored 15 of his 22 points in the first half for Morehead, which took control midway through the second with a 14-4 run that stretched a one-point lead to 63-52.

Warner added 14 points, five rebounds and four assists, and Kareem Storey scored 13. The Eagles improved to 1-5 all-time against Belmont.

Evan Bradds led the Bruins with 17 points. Bradshaw added 15 and Taylor Barnette scored 12. Belmont had its last lead at 42-41 on Barnette's 3-pointer with 14:17 left.
