BILLERICA, Massachusetts — Police say a northeastern Massachusetts teenager has died from his injuries a week after he was critically wounded in an accidental shooting involving BB guns and a pellet gun.

The 17-year-old boy was wounded at a home in Billerica on June 26. His name hasn't been released.

Billerica Deputy Police Chief Roy Frost said on the day of the shooting that it happened while a group of juveniles was using BB guns and a pellet gun. The boy was hospitalized in critical condition and died Saturday afternoon.

Police did not release any further details about the nature of the teen's injury.

Neighbors said three teenage brothers live in the home where the accident happened. They described the boys as good kids who helped neighbors shovel snow in the winter.
