Delaware State Police investigate gas station robbery, man grabbed cash from register

WILMINGTON, Delaware — Delaware State Police say they are seeking a man who took money from a Wilmington gas station.

Police say the theft at the BP gas station in the 4000 block of Lancaster Avenue took place about 7:20 a.m. Sunday.

Investigators say a man brought an item to the cashier and when she opened the register the man reached into the register and fled. Police say the 55-year-old cashier tried to stop the man, but was not able to prevent him from taking the money.
