RICHMOND, Virginia — A maker of prefabricated structures plans to expand its Scott County facility, creating 50 jobs.
Gov. Bob McDonnell said VFP Inc. will invest $3.5 million to expand the plant that supplies the telecommunications, power and modular building industries.
VFP is headquartered in Salem and was founded in 1965.
McDonnell approved a $100,000 grant from the Governor's Opportunity Fund for the project. The Virginia Tobacco Indemnification and Community Revitalization Commission also approved $160,000 in Tobacco Region Opportunity Funds for the project.
