O'Donnell hat trick carries North Dakota past Minn. Duluth 5-2

GRAND FORKS, North Dakota — Brendan O'Donnell scored three goals and Zane McIntyre made 41 saves and assisted on a goal as North Dakota beat Minnesota-Duluth 5-2 Saturday in a National Collegiate Hockey Conference game.

Top-ranked North Dakota improved to 17-0-1 when O'Donnell scores a goal. It is 10-0-1 in games played on Saturday.

O'Donnell got the tying goal in the first period and scored again in a three-goal second period that gave UND a 4-1 lead. He added an insurance goal midway through the third period for his first hat trick in his 100th career game.

Mark MacMillan and Drake Caggiula also netted second-period goals. McIntyre assisted on MacMillan's go-ahead goal at 6:11.

Willie Raskob gave UMD the early lead and Justin Crandall scored in the third for UMD.

Kasimir Kaskisuo made 28 saves for the NCHC-leading Bulldogs, who dropped to 8-4-0 on the road this season.
