SPARTANBURG, South Carolina — Two Gaffney men face murder charges after a drive-by shooting outside a Spartanburg nightclub.

Spartanburg County Coroner Rusty Clevenger says 23-year-old Charlie Jackson Jr. of Spartanburg was killed early Sunday from a single gunshot wound to the chest.

The Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office says the slaying happened at about 2:40 a.m. outside Universal Events. Deputies say they don't have a clear motive for the slaying.

Witnesses said they saw a dark blue pickup truck approach Jackson and someone inside the vehicle fire gunshots. Deputies say they found Jackson's body lying face down next to a fence at the nightclub parking lot's main entrance.

Deputies say they've filed murder charges against 24-year-old Rashawn Miller and 32-year-old Shedrick Savage. Both were being held without bond. It wasn't known if they had lawyers.
