Man dies in fire in Salem house where no working fire alarms found

SALEM, Massachusetts — An unidentified man has died in a Salem house fire.

Fire officials say the 53-year-old man was trapped on the second floor of the three-story wooden building that caught fire early Sunday morning.

Officials say there were no working fire alarms on the second floor where the fire broke out.

A tenant on the first floor tenant escaped.

The victim's identity and other details were not immediately released.
