FBI to hold service in Greer to remember 3 killed in bank robbery and promise to find killer

GREER, South Carolina — The FBI is holding a service of remembrance and hope in Greer on the 10th anniversary of a bank robbery where three people were killed.

Thursday's service is scheduled for 1 p.m. at the Greer City Park Amphitheater. Federal agents not only plan to remember the victims, but to promise to keep looking for the killer.

Authorities answering a panic alarm on May 16, 2003, found 56-year-old teller Sylvia Holtzclaw and 60-year-old Eb Barnes and his 58-year-old wife Maggie Barnes dead in a utility room in the back of the bank near Interstate 85 in Greer.

The FBI is looking for a red car seen near the bank as well as a man who was around 50 seen near the bank at the time of the robbery.
