Autopsy: Missoula County jail inmate dies of heart attack

MISSOULA, Montana — An autopsy found a 54-year-old Missoula County jail inmate who died over the weekend had a heart attack.

Bryan Dewey Bowker collapsed in his cell shortly Sunday morning after telling his cellmate he wasn't feeling well.

Coroner Mike Dominick says Bowker was being treated for high blood pressure, but he wasn't sure what medication he was taking.

The Missoulian reports an autopsy at the state crime lab in Missoula found Bowker's heart had ruptured.

Bowker had been jailed since his arrest in October on charges of aggravated driving under the influence and criminal endangerment for allegedly driving on the sidewalk and nearly hitting a bicyclist, his dog and three joggers.
