MUNCIE, Indiana — The former manager of a central Indiana convenience store has been sentenced to three years in prison for his role in selling synthetic drugs known commonly as bath salts.
Twenty-eight-year-old Phulbir "Mike" Singh apologized for his actions Monday before he was sentenced in Delaware Circuit Court.
The Star Press reports (http://tspne.ws/12WWxnw ) Singh pleaded guilty in March to corrupt business influence in exchange for prosecutors dropping five other charges.
Singh was one of eight men arrested last June after authorities raided Muncie-area convenience stores selling bath salts and spice, which mimic other controlled substances.
Authorities say that Singh, a native of India, will likely be taken into custody by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and deported rather than serving his sentence in Indiana.
