Wyoming will play Appalachian State in football in home-and-home series beginning next year.


LARAMIE, Wyoming — Wyoming and Appalachian State will compete in football in a home-and-home series beginning next year.

Appalachian State is in transition from the Football Championship Subdivision to the Football Bowl Subdivision after joining the Sun Belt Conference.

The first game will be on the Mountaineers' home field in Boone, North Carolina, on Oct. 3, 2015. The Cowboys will host the Mountaineers on Sept. 4, 2021.

UW also announced schedule changes involving future games with Northern Illinois and Clemson.

The game against Northern Illinois in DeKalb, Illinois, has been moved from Sept. 26, 2015 to Sept. 11, 2021.

The Cowboys and Huskies game in Laramie, Wyoming, remains as originally scheduled on Sept. 3, 2016.

And the Cowboys game at Clemson in 2021 will be moved back a week to Sept. 25, 2021.
