Iowa man initially charged with attempted murder for shooting pleads guilty to reduced charges

WESLEY, Iowa — A Wesley man initially charged with attempted murder has pleaded guilty to lesser charges.

The Mason City Globe Gazette reports (http://bit.ly/1qRwJI6 ) that 26-year-old Andrew Zeitler pleaded guilty earlier this week to willful injury and two weapons counts in the July 21 shooting of 26-year-old Dustin Kiefer during a fight.

Zeitler had been charged with attempted murder and going armed with intent.

His sentencing hearing has been set for Sept. 8.
