RICHMOND, Virginia — Public voting is under way to choose the 2015 Virginia's Top 10 Endangered Artifacts.
Twenty-five artifacts have been nominated for this year's list. They include an 1843 copy of the Declaration of Independence and a World War II camera collection.
The program is sponsored by the Virginia Association of Museums. It's designed to create awareness of the importance of preserving artifacts.
Public online voting began Saturday and continues through Aug. 23. Votes can be cast at http://www.vatop10artifacts.org .
The association says an independent panel of collections and conservation experts will choose the Top 10 artifacts. The list will be announced on Sept. 15.
