ATLANTA — Zoo Atlanta celebrated the second birthday of a pair of giant panda twins and officials say a second surprise for the pandas is set for this weekend.

Zoo officials say Mei Lun and Mei Huan turned 2 years old Wednesday and were given special treats in their habitats. Officials say the pair will be treated to ice cakes during a second celebration on Saturday.

Officials say the pandas were born two minutes apart and are the only surviving panda twins ever born in the U.S.
