No injuries reported as plane crashes into yard of central Florida home; aircraft is totaled


MOUNT DORA, Florida — Two occupants of a small plane that crashed into the front yard of a central Florida home walked away without injuries.

The plane took off from Mid Florida Air Service Airport in Eustis on Saturday morning with a pilot and student on board. Mount Dora city spokeswoman Kelda Senior says an engine malfunction was reported during the flight and an emergency landing was attempted, but the plane clipped two trees before crashing.

The Orlando Sentinel reports ( ) the plane was totaled, but neither of the people on board required medical attention.
