MONTPELIER, Vermont — Vermont police say a 32-year-old Connecticut man is in custody on charges that include selling heroin.

Police say Daniel DeThomas, of Hartford, Connecticut, was arrested Wednesday by members of the Vermont Drug Task force and other officers. He was later lodged at the Southern Vermont Regional Correctional Facility in Springfield.

Police say the investigation that led to the arrest of DeThomas began earlier in December. At the beginning of the investigation the Vermont Drug Task Force allegedly bought heroin from him in a controlled sale.

At the time of his arrest DeThomas was in possession of heroin and cocaine.

He was charged with the sale and possession of heroin, possession of cocaine and false information to law enforcement.

It's unclear if DeThomas has a lawyer.
