Louisville man pleads guilty to killing stepson in fit of anger

LOUISVILLE, Kentucky — A Louisville man has pleaded guilty to fatally beating his teenage stepson to death.

Media reported Joshua Gouker entered the plea on Friday to murder and other charges in Jefferson Circuit Court in the 2011 death of 14-year-old Trey Zwicker.

Gouker initially told police his son, 17-year-old Joshua Young, was responsible for the killing but then changed his story about a year ago.

The Courier-Journal reports Gouker told the judge during his plea hearing that he is ready to "accept responsibility" for using a lead pipe to beat the boy to death in a fit of rage.

He did not make a deal with prosecutors for leniency.

Young is still set for trial in July on charges of complicity to murder.
