Panthers release DE Thomas Keiser and OL Zach Williams; add 8 free agents to roster

CHARLOTTE, North Carolina — The Panthers have waived defensive end Thomas Keiser and offensive lineman Zach Williams, and signed eight free agents.

Keiser made the Panthers roster as an undrafted rookie in 2011 out of Stanford and contributed right away with 13 tackles and four sacks in eight games. However, shoulder problems limited him to four games last season and his production fell off.

Williams was Carolina's sixth round draft pick in 2011 but only played in one game in two seasons.

The team also waived a pair of undrafted free agents — wide receiver Trey Diller and linebacker Damario Jeffery.

Carolina signed eight players: wide receivers Brenton Bersin, Taulib Ikharo and R.J. Webb, tight end Logan Brock, center Brian Folkerts, defensive linemen Linden Gaydosh and Louis Nzegwu and linebacker Ben Jacobs.
