DETROIT — Authorities in Detroit are investigating a fire that killed two people on the city's southwest side.

WWJ-AM says the fire broke out Sunday just before midnight. It says emergency crews rushed several people to hospitals, and two of them died in the emergency room at Detroit Receiving Hospital.

No one answered the phone Monday afternoon at the Detroit Fire Department. The Associated Press has sent an email message seeking information.
