Police search for hit-and-run driver after officer working traffic detail struck by car


WORCESTER, Massachusetts — Authorities in Worcester are searching for a vehicle after a police officer working a traffic detail was struck by a car.

The officer, who was directing vehicles around a construction site at Grafton and Franklin Streets, did not appear to suffer serious injuries in the incident on Wednesday morning.

Police said the driver of the vehicle did not stop after hitting the officer.
