Fire at Austin apartment complex displaces 18 residents; no injuries reported.


AUSTIN, Texas — Eighteen people have been forced from their homes by a fire at a northwest Austin apartment complex.

No injuries have been reported.

Austin Fire Department officials say the blaze broke out about 4 a.m. Saturday.

Battalion Chief Palmer Buck tells the Austin American-Statesman ( ) one building was destroyed and two others evacuated as a precaution.

He says the people displaced from their homes have been moved to other apartments in the complex.
