WICHITA, Kansas — A southwest Kansas sex offender has been sentenced to 20 years in federal prison after pleading guilty in a child pornography case.

Forty-eight-year-old Wade Dewey of Syracuse was sentenced Wednesday in Wichita. He previously pleaded guilty to one count of possessing child pornography.

Dewey says he downloaded images and videos from the Internet in August 2013 while in Syracuse.

Dewey was convicted in 1999 in Pueblo, Colorado, on a charge of criminal attempt to commit sexual assault of a child.
