RIVERDALE, California — A 2-year-old girl attending a Fresno County swap meet was struck and killed when she stumbled into the path of an SUV.

The Los Angeles Times (http://lat.ms/1FGRdVF) reported Sunday that the accident happened Saturday night.

The California Highway Patrol reports the SUV was moving at just 2 to 3 miles an hour through the swap meet grounds when the girl tripped. Her head was struck by the vehicle's left rear tire.

The girl, whose name was not released, was the daughter of a swap meet vendor.

She was flown to a Fresno medical center but authorities said she died on the way.

The SUV's 66-year-old driver was not arrested.

The CHP says the accident remains under investigation, but neither alcohol nor drugs are believed to have played a role.
