Supporters of ex-mayor of Ellisville fail in bid to review ouster; he's filed a lawsuit

ELLISVILLE, Missouri — The city council of a St. Louis County town deadlocked over a proposal to reinstate the former mayor, who was ousted last month for violating the city charter.

The Ellisville City Council's tied on a vote Wednesday to reverse ex-Mayor Adam Paul's removal from office. The vote came after several residents asked the council to reinstate Paul.

Paul, who was elected last year, was ousted by a previous city council for failing to control meetings, illegally trying to have the city attorney fired, giving city employees illegal orders and other offenses.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports (http://bit.ly/16By36X ) Paul still could return to office if he prevails in a lawsuit he filed last month.
