SHREVEPORT, Louisiana — Shreveport police say a gunfight between two groups outside a gas station wounded eight people.
Multiple news outlets report that police answered a call about a shooting early Sunday and found a 19-year-old man lying in the parking lot. Investigators learned that private cars took seven other people, including a 16-year-old girl, to area hospitals.
A news release says wounds range from minor to potentially life-threatening.
Investigators say an ambulance took 19-year-old Nicholas Jiles to University Health for treatment of a leg wound and a graze on his back. He's expected to recover.
Police say the gunfight started as two groups loitered on adjacent parking lots. They say it's unclear what led to the shooting or how involved the eight victims were.
Nobody's been arrested, but the investigation continues.
