SPOKANE, Washington — Spokane police have arrested a man who drove his car onto railroad tracks and got stuck, resulting in a train colliding with the vehicle.

Police say the incident occurred early Friday morning in downtown Spokane when 24-year-old Ruben Flores drove his car into the tracks.

Police say the vehicle became stuck and Flores got out as a train approached. He jumped down a 7-foot embankment, breaking his ankle.

Police say Flores was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence and taken to a hospital for treatment of his ankle.
