SANTA CRUZ, California — Officials say a Northern California man distributed child pornography on Facebook under the name of a police officer who had arrested him for possession of pornography images of children.

The Santa Cruz Sentinel reports (http://bit.ly/1BGj2MT ) Tuesday the officer arrested 31-year-old Cristopher Schuette in January 2014 for possession of child pornography. He was released days after when he posted a $5,000 bond.

Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Sgt. Kelly Kent says Schuette was detained Monday after an investigation into the fake Facebook profile led to him.

Schuette was arrested on suspicion of distributing child pornography, false impersonation, stalking and committing a felony while released on bond.

He was booked into Santa Cruz County Jail and this time is being held in lieu of $250,000 bail.
