WorkForce West Virginia reports slight unemployment decline in April

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — West Virginia's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate inched down a notch in April.

WorkForce West Virginia announced Monday the state's jobless rate was down one-tenth of 1 percentage point to 6.7 percent last month.

The state's unemployment rate compares favorably with the U.S. average in April, which was 8.1 percent.

The small West Virginia decline translates to a decline of 1,000 jobless residents. April's unemployed totaled 53,800.
