4 injured, including woman in home, after gunfire erupts on SW Philly street; 27 shots fired

PHILADELPHIA — Police say four people were shot, including a woman a woman hit by a stray bullet that entered her home, when gunfire erupted on a southwest Philadelphia street.

Officials said a group of people were on the street in the Elmwood section of the city when more than two dozen shots were fired shortly before 9:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Authorities told KYW-TV that a 26-year-old woman had a graze wound to the head after a ricochet entered her bedroom window. She was later listed in stable condition at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

A 41-year-old man and a man in his 20s were listed in critical but stable condition and a 21-year-old man was in stable condition.

Lt. John Walker told reporters that 27 shots were fired.
