Firefighters safely rescue 2 men from burning apartment building in northern New Jersey

CLIFTON, New Jersey — Firefighters rescued two men from a burning apartment building in northern New Jersey.

Clifton fire officials tell The Record (http://bit.ly/1xDnSME) that the two men were found early Wednesday in separate bedrooms of a ground-floor unit in the three-story building on Randolph Avenue.

They were safely removed from the building, and no injuries were reported.

The fire was reported around 5:45 a.m. and was brought under control about 30 minutes later. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, though authorities say It doesn't appear to be suspicious.

Officials say the blaze started in the cellar and spread to the first floor.
