ATLANTA — State labor officials say the state's unemployment rate dipped slightly to 6.1 percent in June, down from 6.3 percent in May.
The Georgia Department of Labor said Thursday unemployment is at its lowest rate in seven years. The seasonally-adjusted jobless rate was 7.3 percent in June 2014.
The state's total labor force fell for the first time in 18 months, decreasing by nearly 13,000 people to 4.7 million.
State Labor Commissioner Mark Butler says the state's job growth rate remains higher than the national rate.
