Baton Rouge man accused of pouring gas outside ex-girlfriend's home, tried to set it on fire


BAKER, Louisiana — A 54-year-old Baton Rouge man is accused of pouring gasoline outside his ex-girlfriend's Baker home and trying to set the building on fire while she was inside.

According to the arrest report, the victim told police that Leper Lewis was upset because she had recently broken up with him.

The Advocate reports ( ) Lewis was booked into Parish Prison Saturday on counts of attempted first-degree murder, attempted aggravated arson and public intimidation of a police officer.

Lewis remains in jail Monday. His bond is set at $180,000 bond.

Jail officials couldn't provide the name of a defense attorney to comment on the charges.
