BARRE, Vermont — Vermont State Police fire investigators are trying to determine the cause of a fire in Barre that displaced residents of four apartments.

Police say there were no injuries in the fire that was reported about 2:15 a.m. Monday in the Brook Street building.

When firefighters arrived, they found the second floor of the building partially ablaze.

The Upper Valley Region of the American Red Cross says its personnel have been meeting with the people displaced by the fire. Most of the residents were provided temporary housing.

Anyone with information about the fire is asked to call the Barre Police Department or the Vermont Arson Tip Award Program
