Md. man pleads guilty to stabbing teen; also admits to sexually abusing the girl

HAGERSTOWN, Maryland — A man charged with stabbing a teenage girl he had been accused of molesting has pleaded guilty to two crimes.

Thirty-eight-year-old Jenerette Dixon pleaded guilty Monday to assault and sex abuse of a minor in Washington County Circuit Court in Hagerstown. Prosecutors are recommending a 30-year sentence. A judge ordered Dixon to undergo a mental health evaluation before sentencing.

Prosecutors say in September, a teenager accused Dixon of sexually abusing her. In February, Dixon was at the girl's house, got into an argument with her and stabbed her in the chest. A 2 1/2-hour standoff with police ensued before Dixon surrendered.

The girl has recovered from her injuries.

The Herald-Mail of Hagerstown reports (http://bit.ly/10ExFwU) that Dixon was on parole from a 2003 murder conviction at the time of the stabbing.
